What our guests had to say:
“Thank you so much for my paintings! I have hung them in my office, they really brighten up the space. They make me so happy to look at them” ~ Jenny
Jenny commissioned two paintings to remember her 8-day Alpine Traverse through Kosciuszko National Park. Jenny requested a painting of the distant blue mountains, stretching back as far as the eye could see. Finding the right shade of blue was so important to keep this memory alive. She also wanted a painting to remember the tiny alpine shrubs you can only see in the Australian Alps known as Carpet Heath. This painting brings back memories of early morning ascents and untouched wilderness.
Here is a quick guide into her commissions process
Step 1: Inspiration
To kick off the commission process, Ineka invites you to a brief phone call to discuss your hiking experience and your chosen photograph/s. This can be done via email if desirable. You might select one photograph or series of photographs (such as the same subject from different viewpoints). Whether this be a wide mountain vista, the summit, or a memorable detail: wildflowers, a native bird, or a moss covered stone. Please note, no human figures or portraits.
Step 2: Practical considerations
What size do you imagine your painting to be?

Materials
Ineka works with oil paint on wooden pine boards. Oil paints have been used by artists for hundreds of years. They are rich, luminous and create a beautiful depth of colour. This makes them the ideal choice to capture the Australian landscape. Ineka chooses to work on wooden boards instead of canvas. She prefers their durability and neat 2cm deep timber edging, making them ready to hang – no framing necessary.
Step 3: Deposit
A 20% deposit secures your commission timeline and covers the upfront materials cost.
Step 4: Drafting
Studies, mock-ups, colour palettes, composition… This is a really important step in the commissions process so that you can imagine what the final painting might look like.
Step 5: Final artwork
Step 5: Final Artwork
It’s time to bring your story to life in a final artwork.
Step 6: Delivery
Artwork shipped within 60 days*. Shipping costs are not included in the painting price and are quoted in the planning phase. Oil commissions take up to 60 days.
*This timeline begins after the deposit is made. This timeline does not account for shipping times.
Any additional paintings will be charged at the standard price guide. This price does not include GST (not applicable). Any variations to the commission specifications can be negotiated with Ineka at her discretion.
About the ArtistÂ
Ineka Voigt is a visual artist based in Kamberri / Canberra. She comes from a family of creative women who taught her to draw and paint. Her creative process begins outdoors (en plein air), where she captures her immediate surroundings through observational drawings, sketches, and small gouache paintings. These initial impressions then serve as the foundation for larger, more detailed oil paintings completed back in her studio. Her work frequently depicts the beauty of her local environment, with a focus on regional landscapes, flora and fauna.
Please do not reproduce or redistribute Ineka’s work for commercial purposes.
