The Adventure Gene is excited to offer the opportunity to commemorate your journey with us by receiving a personalised commission painting by local Canberra artist, Ineka Voigt.
Personalised commissions are based on a chosen photograph, or series of photographs (such as the same subject from different viewpoints). Popular options include a wide vista such as a mountain view, or a gumtree canopy. Alternatively, choose an object with fine details such as a wildflower, a native bird, or a moss covered stone. Please note, no human figures or portraits.
Ineka seeks to represent more than just a photograph. A painting can capture the sensations of the landscape; the texture of leaves underfoot or the soft blue shade of the mountains.
To kick off the commission process, Ineka invites you to a brief phone call at the conclusion of your hike to discuss your experience and your chosen photograph/s. This can be done via email if desirable.
Specifications
Materials: Oil paint on wooden pine board.
Oil paints naturally have a shiny, luminous quality. This makes them the ideal choice to capture the Australian landscape. Wooden boards are 2cm deep giving the painting a natural wooden edge, no framing necessary.
Dimensions: The standard size is 40.5cm x 30.5cm x 2cm (12″ x 16″ x 0.75″ inches).
Price: $550 is the standard price of a personalised commission.

If you are interested in a larger painting, Ineka is happy to provide a quote, also offering 20% off the final price.
First Tour Offer: The Adventure Gene is offering all guests on the company’s first tour (starting 2nd Nov 2024) a free commission at the standard size. This offer includes free postage within Australia.
Timeline: Artwork shipped within 60 days* from the conclusion of the trip.
*This timeline is reliant on Ineka receiving the reference photograph/s within 7 days of the tour end date. This timeline does not account for shipping times.
Shipping is an additional cost and is not included in the painting price.
Any additional paintings will be charged at the standard price. This price does not include GST (not applicable). The standard size is the smallest size available. Any variations on the standard commission specifications can be negotiated with Ineka at her discretion.
About the Artist
Ineka Voigt is a local artist based in Canberra, Ngunnawal and Nambri country. Ineka’s paintings form a visual diary of places, moments and memories. Ineka works outside, en plein air, taking observational drawings, sketches and creating small paintings in gouache. These impressions inspire larger oil paintings back in her studio. Ineka enjoys depicting local landscapes, native flowers and birds. Her final paintings are colourful, joyful and expressive.

Whilst both parties have agreed to offer the commission painting add-on, there may be circumstances beyond The Adventure Gene’s control that cause delay or result in the commission painting being unable to be completed. Should the painting be unable to be completed, the client will receive a full refund.
