FKTs

Co-founders Maddie and Tom have set FKTs on the Australian Alps Walking Track, Bibbulmun Track and Te Araroa. Learn how to hike big days (60-100km), look after your feet, optimise your nutrition, and minimise your base weight (<3kg).

In January and February 2024, we set the self-supported Fastest Known Time (FKT) on New Zealand’s national trail, Te Araroa, completing the ~3030km route in 54 days 14h.
Fastest Known Times (FKTs) are the current activity du jour for endurance athletes. The premise is simple and tantalising: can you finish a route faster than all those who have come before you?
Check out the gear we used for our 2024 self-supported Te Araroa FKT, with a full weight breakdown for the 3030 km hike.
